Im starting myresearching on cams but I am new to the 02 popular cams . I know the foxbody loves th E303 cam and that's all I know. So, what's a good set on stock heads valves and springs. I'm not sure if I have a solid roller cam nor do I know the lift or the max( recommend ) lift I can go. I'm 70mm all out with cai too. And what will the power and torque gain be with a cams swap 20hp? School me please
Well if you don't want to fiddle with clearances then you'd better stay with a stage 1 can which will add a bit more power but more likely just stretch out your powerband a bit. You may get away with a stage 2 cam without problems but your taking a chance. I had no problems but mine were custom grinds. Also with stage 2 you'll most likely have to change your springs. Which isn't much more work really.
if your going to change cams this summer when you forged the bottom end why not just want to do a cam this summer so you can get a better profile than a stage 1?
but go with a comp 262 or check out modularheadshop.com.. his stage 1 cams can be ran with stock valve springs...but i personally recommend doing better valve springs and all cams just for piece of mine and better seat pressure
