Lightbulb Grill Delete

I'm just wondering... Do I have to buy the grill delete kit and do it, or can I just take out my current grill and cut the honeycomb crap off of it? Any thoughts?

I had a broken grille and a new grille came with my car when I bought it
I tried this same thing with the broken one
It did not work at all!!!!!
And it was very time consuming

Just buy the kit or at least the bottom piece to cover up the holes

Re: Grill Delete

Yah I thought about doing the same thing with mine before I bought the delete kit and it won't work since there's really no way to mount the corral without fabbing up some sort of bracket to the radiator mount.

It'd probably be easier to buy the kit. Whatever you do BUY the 3 piece kit..I know it's $30 more than the 2pc, but the radiator cover completes the look. I'm sure everyone with the kit would agree.

yes a 2 piece looks fine, but when side by side with a 3 piece it's night and day

Oh it looks good...still have the floating pony and the black applique on the bumper. The extra piece imo completes the look by hiding the rough look of the radiator support behind the horse.

You can only tell when looking at the front of the car or when opening the hood.

Re: Grill Delete

course.. my buddy did this, hes got a black gt aswell, and he actually didnt buy anything or cut anything.. he just tok his grill off totally and then made a mount for the body. its black, so it all loks clean... this might be the way to go :s

and im also looking at spolier removal, im thinking some plugs from the hardware store and black touch up paint on the top... what about you guys?

Yah I've heard of guys doing that to make the bare decklid look good. If you get the plugs and they are rounded, sand them down to make them sit damn near flush with the surface of the decklid...won't even know they're there till your a foot away.

You're gonna be able to notice where the holes were if you look for em. I can see where every stone chip was if I look at my hood at the right angle, and those are tiny marks..

Re: Grill Delete

Oh I know what you mean Agent... I have that black car, and I can tell you EVERY imperfection that is on my car... In areas the clear coat is cracked and there is white 'crack' marks coming off, on the roof and the decklid... One spot on my hood... Three small dents on the roof from acorns... and white marks around the edge of the side vents... It may sound like alot, and my sound terrible, but this is all not hardly noticable. Most of the people who see the car can't find anything wrong with it. But because its mine, it eats at me, and I wanna paint it though everyone calls me crazy haha.

I've probably touched up 20 stone chips. Most of them very small, and i'd say I did a good job but it still burns me up lol
