Trick flow top end kit

Anyone have a trick flow top end kit on a 2000 GT? Let me know if it is worth my time such as horse power gain and being able to stay street legal?

Thanks you! Could you or your friend tell a major difference after installing the top end kit?

Re: Trick flow top end kit

Yeah it was a huge difference. He did the whole top end kit (heads, cams, etc) and with LTs, CAI, 70mm throttle body/plenum and a good tune he made 378 at the wheels!! And the car pulls like crazy all the way through the powerband now

Can't go wrong with this set up. Solid choices

The thing I like about the trick flow heads are they eliminate the faults of the 2v heads. The falling on their face after 60.

I don't know about that cause I have a 1991 GT and a 1992 Lx. But my friend has been talking about this top end kit for about a year now so I hope it works for him.

Tell him to look on mmr for the ported trick flow heads. Adds up to 50 whp on top of the power the heads add.

Re: Trick flow top end kit

I wouldnt go with the mmr ported ones. That extra $500 can be spent on something that will be better for him. The only way the ported ones will help is if he is revving the car up way past 6000 (which im sure he isnt). On a basically stock motor he will never be able to use the extra air flow. AND i would NEVER buy the one from MMR because it is nothing more that a mild hand port. They dont even have flow numbers for them!! If for some reason he would be crazy and decided he wanted a set of the TF heads ported then Nick at Modular Head Shop is the ONLY one i would go to.

Yes we looked mmr up and he already made that decision to not get them there. He will be using late model resto.
