Removing Exhaust

Is it a hassle to take out the stock exhaust? Do you have to cut it or can you wiggle and twist it out of there? I just got my exhaust and I'm gonna put it on tmrw.

I had to cut the wifes 07 gt between the muffler and the cats to wiggle out the pipes from over the axle, not unless you have a lift =-) reciprocating saw worked pretty well.

That's what I was wondering about was getting it over the axle. And luckily i do have a lift, so should getting the pipes over the axle not be a problem?

Re: Removing Exhaust

I took mine to a small muffler shop and paid $87 to get the old off and new on and welded. They had to cut the old off due to them being on there for 10 years and 87K miles lol.

One of the reasons I had them do it is because I dont have a lift, your lucky you have one!

Well it wasn't quite as simple as just unbolting it lol. I had to drop the rear end to get enough clearance to get the exhaust out and for some reason non of the three installation guides mentioned this. They all just say unbolt the flanges and remove from the hangers to take off. Oh well it wasn't too bad. I would have just cut them but a buddy of mine wants them.

The slp mufflers. They're called the powerflos. Lms were a little too raspy for me. I wanted to keep the the classic muscle tone. The powerflos from what I read are actually very similar to glass packs and they are straight through mufflers instead of chambered. They're supposed to get louder as I break them in. Avg is about 6 months to break them in.
