A/C Question

My A/C will not work!

It worked fine one day and then just stopped. The compressor wont kick on but its still good. It works when I reset it by unpluging the "CCRM" (Constant Control Relay Module) and then pluging it back in, the A/C will work fine until the compressor kicks off, it wont come on a 2nd time and idles funny. I tried a new CCRM and its the same problem, it will only kick on one time and then something wont let it kick back on again, then the weird idling starts. I dont get it..i know the compressor is good because it works fine for a bit after i unplug the CCRM and plug it back in.

And this is what i mean by "weird idling", when i turn the A/C on, the RPM tach moves up and down between 800 and 400 and you can hear the engine bogging down like its gona die and then coming back up to an idle just to bogg down again. And it does the constantly when the A/C is on.

Like i said, the A/C will work normal until the compressor kicks off..then it starts bogging up and down with the idle..

Please help!?!?!?

Thank you!

I honestly have no idea if what I'm about to say is even logical.. But the a/c is turned by the engine, right? Could that part with the pulley possibly be messing up so that it may work for a sec but causes too much strain on the engine that the engine shuts it off?

That's what I'm picturing in my head. Might be a stupid thought, though. And it would kinda be logical because you reset te relay so the engine lets it run for a bit then strains and shut it off again..

The low pressure switch is probably why it won't kick back on. Have you checked the freon?

Yeah it has plenty of freon. Where is the low pressure switch located though?

Its by the firewall on passenger side. You can jump the connector to see if ot stays running. Most likely coolant is low and the pressure switch cuts it out
