Another HID thread.

Been looking at other treads but didn't find answer I'm buying a hid kit from DDM my question is what's the actuall difference in 35w and 55w. I've got the black housing assemblies From what I've read I need the bi9007 kit just not sure on which wattage I need I like them to be freaking really bright prob in the 5-6000k range if anyone has pics or video of there set up I'd like to see it.

Re: Another HID thread.

55w is just brighter, go with those for headlights and 35w for fogs. Go with 6k those are clear and white and look really good.

FYI you will blind people as your headlight housings are not designed for HID lights.

try to get a kit that is power tru a realay not just tru the fatory plug since the stock is ment for the stock bulds , is better when you get a kit that is plug to the direct battery post and turn on by the plug to a realay youl get 40% more power from them, thats how I made mine ill post a pic of my setup

Ya I'm going with the 6000k 55 w. hi/low
Going to aim them down a bit soon as I get them and figure out how to adjust
I don't have fog lights yet. Not sure if I'm going to get gt nose with Mach lip or regular cobra nose.

I've got 55W 4300k Hid's on my '11 F150. Headlights and fog lights. They look like daylight! No color what so ever. It's the purest white. I love them.

What housings are available for our cars that are intended for use with HID kits?

Re: Another HID thread.

I ordered 6k HID headlights (hi-low) and foglights 5 days ago. I'll post pics in a few days when they come in and I wire everything up.

why are they ********? and if they are aimed at factory specs they won't bother anyone if your lenses are clear, we have clear lenses not the diffuser lenses with the horizontal stripes that diffuse the light. i have never been flashed by other drivers.

Just aim them down. It will still give you a ****-ton of light, but you won't get in people's eyes. At least it's not as bad as lifted trucks that use HIDs... They're just straight ********.

my buddies Mach 1 has had HIDs for a year now and has never been flashed and never got stopped for them. He runs 8ks and has them aimed down a bit.

Our housings are designed to scatter the light. I guarantee the cut off will not be clean like an oem unit.
It's also illegal in all 50 states if rhat makes any diff to anyone.

Figures. The only responsible way is to mount a proper retrofit but i doubt you would spend that kind of money.

Got them put in. 35W 6ks. We didn't get to finish though. Gonna splice the power straight to the battery and they're gonna be probably 2x brighter. Also got 35w 6k fog lights. Same deal. They look a lot more teal in the pic than they are. But they're actually pretty white. Gonna get whiter when we splice them.

I didn't have the fogs on in that pic. Idk which wire it is. Gonna have a friend show me how to tomorrow or Tuesday. I'll definitely get back to you with an answer though.

Attached a few more pics. The camera makes it look a lot more teal.. They're white.

Got everything working right on mine. I love it. Something you'll want to consider is that with 55w the color temps will be different. A 8k will look like a 6k, and so on.
