Get the tuner before you get the headers!.. You might run into a lean mixture if you don't!.. But yes a good tuner is worth it's weight in gold!.. Lol

I have the diablo Preditor tuner and it's worth just having it for other things. You have to have it for gears and off road mid pipes and custom tunes for bolt ons. These cars need to be sold with tuners it's must for upgrading you Stang.

I've always had my eye on the sct from AM every since I had my 98 do when I buy one I'll go that way with it

---------- Post added at 10:14 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:02 AM ----------

Oh and with the flash tuners for the performance tunes does it have to b a 97 tune? If so how horrible would the car run on that tune using say 87 cheap gas?

If you get longtubes I would then strongly urge you to get a tuner if you haven't already!.. LT headers are known to cause a lean mixture if not tuned!..

Re: Flash tuners?

Just gonna say this about the LT's and thats it: Long tubes Will give you a little more of HP gain, BUT to feel that gain, you have to kicking high, very high RPMs, otherwise you will not feel that gain. So normally if it's a Daily Driver and you are not at the track, they are not really worth the cost. If you do do the track, then maybe you'll experience the plus. Now "Tuners", I 100% agree on getting one of those, It does not matter if it's a DD or a racetrack junkie.

I have to disagree. Normally i am very skeptical about saying that i really feel alot of gains from mods ive done but long tubes were the best bolt on i have done. Above 3500 rpms you can really tell. Especially in 3rd and 4th doing pulls on the highway. And you can have them if your lowered, you just have to be cautious

You say you disagree, So you feel that 3500 is not high RPMs? you feel that 3500 RPMs is average, and the daily driver reaches 3500 RPMs all the time? I ask this because you disagreed with what I said, but you used the example of: "over 3500, you can really feel the difference".

My next question with the tuners are they really worth it for emailed tunes? Or only worth it when taken to a shop for someone to tune it then selves with the tuner

Just cruising you wont feel it. But I don't consider 3500 high. Most people hit this gettin on the interstate everyday

Tuners are nice. I didnt feel as much gains as some claim but it was a nice pick up. But I would buy it just for the other things it can do
