ls1

Alright guys i have 3 friends that r talking smack about my Car saying the trans am ws6 can beat my Car. Wat Would it take to smoke them without supercharger

What mods do they have? Ls engines are badass. I'm building an ls2 with ls3 heads and a big cam and long tubes I'm hoping to be around 450 to the wheels. If you have a 4.6 it will be tough without forced induction or nitrous.

They have cams. Intake and fully exhaust

yea ls1's run low 13's to mid 13s (depending on gear options etc) and the GT wont do it

Upper and lower plenums. Throttle body. Cai. Midpipe back. 4.10 gears. Short shifter. 93 tune. Just added springs shocks. Subframe connets. I think thats all

Could always luck out and have a better driver mod... I pull on my friend's GT and he pushes 290-310rwhp all day. >.>; I'm at probably 230-40rwhp.

Yea they will beat you. There probably doing low 12s it depends on the cam and intake. Ima try to get in the 9s. Ima have a fully built ls2 with ls3 sodium filled heads. Forged internals with a mega death cam a 300 shot of nitrous and maybe turbos.

Do you have a GT or Mach1 if it's a Mach 1, stock vs stock the mach1 wins I've seen it many times but gt vs ws6 no way

I'm cammed full exhaust and have all of the bolt ons except ud pulleys and a manifold and 3.90 gears and I pull on geared bolt on ws6 and other ls1 cars. I've beat ls2 gto's a few times as well. Get yourself some tire that grip and destroy them off the line. That's what will win your race. They start pulling on me at the end of the 1/4 but I'm still about 1-2 cars ahead of even the gto's.

Jlt cai, trick flow 75mm tb and plenum, bbk long tubes, bbk x pipe with the cats hollowed, straight pipes to back, h&r race springs, kyb adjustable rear shocks, tokico struts, 3.90 Richmond gears, 315/35-17 Nitto nt555r drag radials which are even bald. Comp cams custom grind stage 2 cams made for supercharging, comp high lift springs. The cams aren't even degreed and the motor isn't tuned. The cam degrees are close enough that it just drinks gas cause the missing tune. Lol it gets about 7 mpg in town and 23 highway lol

Oh I forgot my short throw and the previous owner said they did some porting of the stock manifold. I didn't think you could do that on the plastic pi manifold but I guess you can after some searching

Isnt the WS6 like the "Cobra" of the Pontiacs? I mean if its that much faster, shouldn't it be a match for the Cobra and not the Gt?
Im just asking because it almost doesnt seem fair to race a Gt with an LS1..

No the ws6 was just the trans am ls1 nothing really to special about it that I know if. Atleast not on the level of the cobra with its different heads and everything. Ive beat 2 ws6 and one with a procharger. That was because the kid can't launch at all. People don't realize that you can get a gt into the 12s with boltons and a tune. That's pretty good for the gt everyone hates on.

Well my friends ws6 came with an ls6 intake.

The cobra has about 390hp while the ws6 has about 350 these #'S are at the crank not wheels a gt vs ws6 is almost no match while the cobra is a better race

Ohhh ok. And I love my Gt, I dont see why so many people hate on them, they have alot of potential for a being a little 4.6l.

They talk down on it because the 2v is the bottom of the barrel. It's not that it has no potential it's that people give up on its potential. I've raced a 94 and 97 LT1 camaro and 96 trans am, a couple 98s and a 99 camaro and a 2000 trans am. Not sure what year the procharged ta was but needless to say i have only lost once to a ls1 once. The guy has every bolt on possible and it is built for drag races and he had owned his car for years and I had mine for a week lol

I had 97 cobra w tko tranny aluminum drive shaft, king cobra clutch, steeda tri ax short throw, off road h... Cat back, cai, lowered, sum Suspension, bigger fuel pump, 4:10s, nitto 555r... I one a scholarship to ITT tech n Reginal youth bracket racing... I can drive the piss out of cars ... I would power shift every gear( and broke the crank :-/ ) I could hit high 12s consenstsnly in that car.... However if I came accross a some what modified SS or ram air they would drop me every time at the track... They can easily hit mid to low 12s .... On the street it would come down to how far we would race ... I could stay out n front till top of 3rd... Like I said just beat em in the corners... If you can drive...

I rarely go over 100 on the street. I run through 4th and shut it down. And this is on abandon road so it's not like 100 through town lol I know idiots that do that.

The WS6 is the Ram Air package for the Trans Am!... It's actually only rated at 325hp!.. The regular Trans Am is rated at 315hp!..

Wow if I read that right 2v GTs are slow lol n the cobra I'd b at 120+ at the top of 3rd???? (end of 3rd when finishing a 1/4 run)
