Ecu question

Close friend of mine just picked up a 96 black gt w 04 GT motor swap w port n polished heads... And front and rear seats out of a 04 GT as well... Looks real good, has almost complete Suspension set up w 03-04 anniversary staggered wheels (315-40-17 rear)

My question is this: the motor was swapped but who ever did it left the 96 ecu in-place... When he goes to tune it need a matching ecu to the 04 motor?

So even by using a mail order sct tuner? He won't dyno tune until he completes his mod list

Yes even by mail just specify every modification to motor/exhaust. It's should still run fine as it is but it'll run like a raped ape after it gets a proper tune

I would think u would need to have a new ecu.... The old motor would have different timing, air fuel ratios...ect I highly doubt bama could properly tune that thing... I'm starting to think they suck... Just based on my cars issues
