First Mustang - what to do first?!?!?

Finally got a mustang after years of drooling. It is a 2000 red convertible GT. All original. What are some relatively cheap options to customize it? Thanks

Re: First Mustang - what to do first?!?!?

Depends what route you wanna go down first. Appearance wise, a Mach1 Chin spoiler with a Mach1 grill delete would set off the front look. Smoked/tinted tails for the back. Some nice wheels, with a moderate lowering would be good.

Performance, depends how much youre willing to spend. Could start with a CAI then TB and plenum, pulleys intake etc etc. Like I said you have to have a basic idea of your avenue of approach! Welcome again!

Thanks. Probably going to start with appearance. Smoked tails is going to be the first. Going back and forth on smoke headlights. I hear there are issues with night visibility when than it done. I'm not sure I want to throw the money into HID just yet.

Has anyone painted the interior trim?

Yeah if you're not gonna get the HIDs I would get covers instead. AmericanMuscle.com is one of our sponsors here and have great prices and customer service. Check them out for ideas. The mach 1 chin spoiler and front grill combo is what most people go for first with appearance. As far as interior paint,I've done this 1 time with one of my cars. Lasted for a year and took forever to find replacement peices. Notmy cup of tea anymore but its ur car. There's some that have done it, use the search box and you will find threads related to it.

HID's really aren't that expensive DDM tuning sells cheap HID's a lot of guys on here have bought them. I'm about to order them myself. And that's a great looking stang, as for upgrades it all depends on what you want to do. You could go crazy if you wanted and do a turbo/supercharge or something with smaller gains like a cold air intake which helps MPG very slightly, if you want the most out of your stang with out really adding anything try buying a tuner for your stang at americanmuscle.com, they are my personal favorite on the web and really are #1! And regarding the Mach 1 grill delete get the three piece set, it looks better and it stronger and better built.

That's awesome. Thanks! I have a huge wish list on American muscle. I really like the white gauges and chrome rings.
