Cams are roughly $580(if you get stage 2 comp cams from AM) and then you need new beehive springs since the cams have higher lift. Springs are $200. Then you might want to get new retainers which run $75. Those are main pieces, not counting tools needed for install. So that's roughly $850. For pro install expect price tag of roughly $1000. So that's $1850. Then tuning which could be anywhere from $100-$400.

So around $2000 would be a rough estimate of you buy parts and get install and tuning.. Someone correct me of I'm wrong.

My shop, JPC, told me it would total well over 2000, and there would not be much if a power gain and that the idol just doesn't get that good with cams on a 2V. So I'm saving for a Kenne Bell

Re: To do list for cams

thats why I LOVE craigslist. I bought everything needed with stage 2 cams. Springs. and got new lifters. After reading and youtubing the daylights out of this. i spent 700 bucks for the parts, and a tune! the damn tune was 450!

The vortech on AM is around 3500 but comes with every thing you need injectors fuel pump ect. And you can set it up to be around 350rwhp safely. But you will need a tune.

You can find basic Vortech S Trim kits all day for 2500 on different forums. Just search the classifieds
