Messing with the pedal isn't really going to do anything...once that butterfly opens all the way...you can't really suck in anymore air...get a cold air intake...even if it's one of those eBay ones, it will really help out alot

I've heard an issue with the 99-00 that if you adjust the pedal in some way it should cut the slack of it.. I was jus wondering if anyone with a 99-00 had ever heard anything of this

Yup I did this the throttle cable gets stretched so you take a couple zip ties and pull the pedal towards the seat and at the top of the pedal there will probley be some slack so you put the zip ties around the slack inbetween the pedal and the end of the cable and your cable will make the throttle open more here a video I watches to make it easier

Just make sure your taking up just enough slack!.. And as far as a CAI?... Stay away from those cheepo halfassed ones!.. Get a good quality one from AM or something!!...

---------- Post added at 11:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:44 PM ----------

By the way I did this with my '04 GT!.. I used a 1inch piece of hose and two zip ties around it!..

What's the outcome of doing this and is there any cons to it? I hear it jus gives your car a quicker throttle response.

Thanks for the help!

Only if there is so much slack in your cable that your TB isn't opening all the way!.. Other wise it just gives it a bit of a different feel!..

Ya it does depending on how stretched it is you can notice a big difference in just quickness and your pedal is gunna be alot more touchy you'll know what I mean after driving it

Wow so now that I've done this pedal mod my GT pulls so much harder! I couldn't believe by just adjusting the cable it would pull as hard as it does! It's great

Personally I don't like it.. The response is the same.. So I don't think there was anything wrong with mine before.. All that's different now is my pedal is pulled up high and it's just uncomfortable cause I have long legs lol

The reason it seems like t made a huge difference to some people and nothing to there is because their throttle cable had started stretching.

It basically opens your throttle body more wide.. The pedal is pushed up higher resulting in faster throttle response and picks up way quicker.. I'm glad I did this mod.. At stoplights I can take off fairly quick by jus barely pressing the pedal

Re: Mustang Pedal Mod

Yah it really depends on the car...the 99/00's are more likely to have the issue as the accelerator pedals were given much more slack than the brake/clutch and could hit the floor before achieving wot. Some of the 01-04's have better pedal response afterwards if the cable has stretched out over time as some have said.

Here's the link to mustang world article..what I used years ago.
