I just replaced mine a few weeks ago along with the splice kit and new domes. This above was the easiest way to remove them w/o breaking the flared out pieces on the back of the screws. I used a small flat head screwdriver to begin to pry them loose enough to get my fingers around them. After that they slipped right out. There are also a few YouTube videos out there with a little searching that will show that trick.
Plastic screws dumb idea IMO.
