Re: 1999 Gt vs 2010 3.5L Altima Coupe

hmmm I hate to do this, and I am a mustang fanatic. But I sold Nissan's for a few years and I am going to give the altima this victory. Close. but my safe bet goes to the Nissan.

What you have to keep in mind is that... even if he does beat you your car is 11 yrs older than his. If you only lose by a couple car lengths that's pretty damn good

Weight difference? Think the 1/4 mile and 0-60 have that covered. If you lose to a car that is almost a FULL second slower in the 1/4 then it will be your own fault as the stats/specs do not lie.. .8 tenths difference is enough time to make a mistake even..
Have you guys ever seen the difference that is .8 tenths???? I mean really guys.. Should not even be close..

Depends. Do you have crappy tires? I assume you will race from a dig? With decent rubber and good shifts the mustang wins is my bet.

My Gt is a 5 speed convertible..idk if that changes anything because of the extra little bit of weight with the rag top.

Convertibles have more power loss because the chassis flex absorbs some of that power. I don't think that's a terrible amount o power though.

Well Zues is officially broken in with 1500 miles on him, so last night we lined em up at the 1/4 mile track. By the end of the night, i beat him 5 times in a row by 2 car lengths everytime. We even switched cars to see if it was the driver and had the same result everytime. He just couldnt hang with the 13 year old Stang lol

Oh and Btw, the Altima has a CAI, i thought it was stock. My Stang is bone stock.

And for those of you who posted on my thread about the turbo civic, hes running 10 PSI. He stayed with me 1/2 way down the track and i pulled away for the win everytime we raced.

Fun night, added 2 cars to my kill list lol

He ran mid 14's and my best run was a high 13 but i mostly ran lower 14's. I wana race a 350z next, i hear they're a little quicker than the 3.5 Altima.

You'll need some more power to stay with a 350z, maybe an older one you will have more of a chance.
