U remembered to plug both connections into the maf? Can't really imagine how the maf would affect the rpms though. Did u bump ur iac?

Iac? And i remembered to plug Everything in. Yesterday, i ran quite a bit of seafoam through the intake vacuum line and it seemed to run Better after that. And then today, i cleaned those two things, and i noticed the rpms were idling at 1500. Towards the end of the day they dropped to about 1000 though!

Idle air control by the plenum. How long did you run it?

Re: RPM's are high?!

It could also be a vac leak or tps and one time my car was shooting to 3000 rpm and it was because a piece of gasket got stuck under my butterfly

Mine idles about 1250 when i start it, it drops to 1000 after a few seconds, then after i've been driving for a bit it idles down to maybe 700/750 so that sounds pretty normal (1000) to me. But maybe mines messed up too. Lol

Well mine starts at 1k rpm and drops to 800-900 so maybe it has to do with your temperature sensor?

U sure it's not the tps? My fox did this once, idled at like 2k then lowered to 1500. Is your tps adjustable?

Normal idle is around 700 to 800. I would definently check your tps(throttle position sensor)

---------- Post added at 06:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:53 PM ----------

Or try the cam and crank sensors as well.

The cam sensor is behind the power steering reservoir and the crank sensor is right behind the A/c compressor.

I had my rpms idling high and i changed my tps out and everything went back to normal. My buddy had the same problem with the same fix. From what i understand that is a very common thing on the 99-04 gt.

Maybe ur iac is bad. Do u have a diablo or sct tuner ? If so u can adjust ur rpm on it and may can find a sweet spot. Is it surging or just staying at about 1500 or 1000 rpm?

Sct. And i replaced the iac twice. It only climbs in rpms. At a red light.

Start your car, remove the vacuum line that goes to you iac, cap them off, adjust you idle to we're it is ALMOST to shut off, then uncap the line and hook it up again. Now I hope this is your problem, I did this to my 01 gt and worked like a charm, couldn't run better.

Maybe an obvious answer, clean your maf again, you could have over oiled your filter! Just use the spray!

The little screw for your idle is what you want to adjust, just unplug the vacuum line that goes to the iac. Do that and let me know what happens, eager to know if that's you problem. Any questions get at me
