4.6 2v engine drop

So with this years tax return, im gonna start building up an old 2v to drop in my 00' v6. My 6 is a 5 speed with minor engine mods on it. However i know im gonna need a new rear end both for durability reasons and to provide the benefits of a limited slip. My question is has anyone here got any info on what ill need (upgraded brakes, recommended transmission, etc) and has anyone heard anything about the 5.0 block that AM sells thats pretty much a direct replacement for the 4.6 block. Besides needing larger heads

Re: 4.6 2v engine drop

not sure on the 5.0 block, but to do the v8 swap you will need engine, transmission, driveshaft, complete rear end, a set of v8 springs and a few other parts and pieces. Its much more than just swapping a motor

The new Mod 5.0 block will only work with 5.0 heads. Ford made new provisions to the PCV system that make them pretty much propritary.
