Nice buy! First one ever?! Ah the bonding you will have... Looks pretty clean.

Those pushrod motors really respond well to cams and head work. I'd start there. Maybe some black cobra wheels. It'll look legit after u paint it.

Are you gonna keep it black?

It was originally red but who ever painted it didn't do a good job at least to me I would like to keep it black maybe with some blue met flake not sure yet. My second mustang first one was a 93 4 banger that was a rusted mess that I sold as fast as I bought it haha!

All depends on how you drive it. But who drives a 400hp car like a grandma?

Nobody.
Mine is an auto. They r a lot easier and a lil tougher that the t45, i got a buddy that builds racers and he was telling me what all ill have to do. Some i didn't understand but i did understand him sayin it'll take less than a grand to have it handling at least 750. We don't have any dynos where i live n bama. I live off n the sticks lol.

One has 9 bolt valve covers, the other has 11 bolt. I don't remember which is which though. I think the windsors have the 9 bolt. Windsors also came in the 99-00 GTs.

---------- Post added at 07:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:08 PM ----------

I guess I should clarify: windsors were the only engine in 99-00 GTs, then it switched to Romeo in 01. Theoretically the Romeo engines are better.

They revised the plastic intake manifold so that it wouldn't crack as easily and I think I heard that they flow just a tiny bit better, however don't quote me on that

Ok. The main Mechanical differences are in the transmission. The 01-04 GTs came with a T3650 instead of the T45

Good, as long as you know you have to biild it up too.

As for the motors. That is actuallly a great question, you need to know that if you are going to build up that engine. The Romeo blocks have casting numbers. There are other ways to tell, read this-

http://www.mustangandfords.com/techa...or_blocks.html

I could be wron, but on superchanged applications - i'm pretty sure you'll need a dyno to tune it to run correctly.

I totally forgot about those before i opened my big mouth. I've heard of those doing a little better than the t45 with highr hp applications. BUT, According to Tremec the t3650 is only rated for 360 ft ib. So, pretty much same ballpark as far as durability goes.
