Questions about wheel spacers

Hey guys, I have a question I hope you mustang experts can help me on. I have an 04 orange mustang gt and have the black chrome rims on it 285/35/18 in the rear and planned on putting billet aluminum spacers 1.5in on the rear to get that wider stance and was wondering if that's ok to do since it is my dd till I get another car? Was wondering if I would have any issues or if you think that's a good way to go or if there is a better way to go?

How wide are your wheels. You are going to run into issues with cutting tires on the fender. My wife's gt cuts tires with 1/8 spacer. 295 on 10" wheel

I got 315/35/17 on the back with stock height, no issues at all and still got some wiggle room

Re: Questions about wheel spacers

I think 1.5" would push those 285's out too far...as said you'd probably be flush or beyond the fender which would cause problems over bumps unless you rolled the fenders.

If you want a little more width I'd say a 1" or even a 3/4" would be enough. Try and get a rough measurement from the edge of your tire (sidewall) to the inner wall of the fender. That might help you determine how much you can more you can go and what spacer will work.

I've seen a couple cobras/mustangs with the 315's sticking past the fender...didn't look good imo.
