Royal purple

I've been using ford motorcraft 5w20 motor oil since I've had my 04' GT, and I've been considering switching over to royal purple...is there anyone out there that uses it and if so, do you notice a difference performance wise?

I don't put anything but RP in my 05 GT... I know people say you can't tell any difference, etc, but my car sure runs great. There's people that think it's silly to pay that much for oil, but I want that car to last as long as possible so I'm putting the best oil I can in it.

I'm not a rp guy... it is great oil but in canada its almost 3 times more than castrol syntec full synthetic. I just can't justify it. For the trans and rear end... that's a different story. I also use their royal purple coolant additive. Saw a temp drop of 18 degrees.

Re: Royal purple

new guy here(see posts about my sticky shift er if u can offer any advice)...

ANYWAAYs, my gt just turned 50k, and was due for oil change. i decided to go synthetic, and will never go back!

i did not use RP but heard great things about it. i bought pennzoil, but i'm sure castrol, mobil or valvoline all would be fine. AMSoil supposed 2 b good too

the benefits all seem logical, and there are more than few of them. well worth the modest added cost, i think. ( i got 5g containers for $20 and change at wally-world, as much as i hate to go there!)

HAHA, yeah I think I'm going to go ahead and go RP, since I'm putting it in my rear end whenever I change my gear out

I put royal purple in once and my oil pan gasket sprung a leak lol never used it again, next oil change I went back to Mobile 1 extended performance and has never had a problem and it's on sale at Autozone almost every month for 34.99 with the mobile or k&n oil filter.

I wouldn't blame the oil for that.
