What should i do?

I just bought a 96 gt 4.6l, and im trying to change the sound of it, the guy that i bought it from said it was a x-pipe on it, but other than that its stock... im looking for a deeper growl out of it but nothing outrageously loud... im new to the site so any advice will help... thanx

I recommend digging around youtube, everyone likes to show off their new sound. my personal favorite is Flowmaster, is has that low raspy muscle sound. Magnaflows sound more open, seems to have a broader sound pectrum id that makes any sense to ya.
Also I recomend getting high flow cats.
Flowmaster 40's with highflow cats on a h-pipe is my setup, let me know if you want to know how it sounds
, ill make a recording and post it on youtube.

Youtube for the win!
Don't forget changing headers out will help, and if you don't have a Cold Air Intake-consider one that will give you a little bit more as well.

I went x-pipe and there was a noticeable difference in sound and performance (on a V6). What's the difference anyway?

Car looks good! Here's my '02 GT to give you perspective on your exhaust:

(for other video comparisons)

(which means stock mufflers, just posted to show you the difference just an o/r x-pipe makes)

(with bassani o/r x-pipe and flowmaster 40s)

((with bassani o/r x-pipe and flowmaster 40s))
