In most cases x pipes make slightly more power, but as for sound, YouTube has a lot of great sound clips with comparisons, so you can decide which you like the sound of better.

I heard a 2v GT with an o/r h-pipe and the magnapack catback..thing was stupid loud and deep. My vote is h-pipe but I love that deep bass note over the raspy sound of the x-pipe.
Either way it's going to sound great.

So basically what im saying is you will never know the difference performace wise. Go with the H though. I heard a GT with O/R X and Borla Stingers (same thing as magnapacks) and it was stupid loud. I couldnt even handle standing behind it when he revved it up. And on the inside you would never be able to carry on a convo

I have o/r X on my MagnaFlow system, it's fine, it's not outragiously loud, but it is a little loud, I believe there are other brands that are much much louder.

On my 2002 I had the Magnaflow catted X. I love the sound of the 4.6L with the X pipe on it. If it was a 5L then I like the low growl of the H.

It's loud and grabs attention way before im even in sight
But god it sounds sexy!!
When your not getting on it the volume is not annoying I hold regular conversations with no problem it's my DD so I would be pissed if it was even mildly intolerable the only time it gets really loud is above 3000 rpms which means I'm starting to get on it
However the one slightly annoying but hilariously funny aspect about it is that when I'm sitting at a light my car sounds like its reving up at ppl
I barely noticed the rev changes that the mustang makes when sitting still stock but with that exhaust it now likes to challenge other cars to races without my approval lol
Leading into my car's new name
"Animal"

I have a question... I want to get dual side exit exhaust, and I want a Low growl when i start up. I have a SOHC and plan on changing that to a DOHC. I love the sounds of those..Anyways.. What kind of exhaust should i get? I'm pretty new to Exhaust and mechanical mods..

It is a Historica task of adding larger Exhaust on cars, going all the way back, just take a look for yourselves, I'm referring to the 50's and 60's to the new people on here, now see if your "Ricers" go all the way back then. How can people even make comments like that "Looks like a Ricer". Really? If it suits you, then just get a Exhaust shop to Cut/build/weld you a tiny Exhaust tip and put that on your car and be Happy.

There is nothing wrong with 4in tips at all.. in my opinion you shouldn't have anything smaller than 3.5in tips. Anything less doesn't seem to fill in the cut outs on the bumper.. however i am really particular about stuff like this and i think it looks way cleaner to have the shop put the tips as far in the cut outs as possible while still having the same amount of gap between tip and cut out all the way around

The "ricer" quote i made was that i thought it would look like a river that's y i went with 3.5 . I seen the pic that guy posted they looked pretty good on the pic. Ill post a pic of mine when i get the car out the shop. The magnaflow tips r easily adjustable. Mine is pushed all the way n. It sticks out between a quarter and half inch

I was simply implying that my buddy's tips looked pretty crazy. They just aren't for me. All the pics I've seen on here they look really clean. So no hate from here.

Yea tips that stick out too far dont do it for me either... i was talking about tips having like a snug fit in the cut out and not hanging with like a 2 finger gap between the tip and cut outs

I was skeptical about the 4" tips too until I saw an 03 Cobra for sale with Borla 4"..things looked badass..as said they really fill out the cutouts in the bumper, and they didn't stick way past the bumper either.
I have 3" tips and they look small at certain angles, but I'm too cheap to buy bigger ones lol.
