Meth Injection AND Intercooler?

Hey guys, in the very near future i will be installing a vortech v1 t-trim that i picked up. It came with the vortech aftercooler. I have a stock motor will bolt ons and my goal is to be around 400 HP. I know that meth wont be needed to hit that goal, but my question is will it help keep my from blowing my motor? This is my DD and i really wanna be as safe as i can. The way i see it, the cooler i run my motor on boost, the easier on the motor it will be. Am i right? Any insight will be great!

Theoretically yes it would make it easier, but any time you throw boost at an engine it makes it a ticking time-bomb. How many pounds are you planning on running?

Re: Meth Injection AND Intercooler?

I wont be seeing anything over 10psi. Honestly i suspect that with my mods and the aftercooler 8-9 psi will put me at my goal of 400rwhp. I was just considering the meth as an added safety net

The aftercooler is air to water but from everyone I've talked to it works outstanding

Meth really shouldn't be necessary for it. Are you planning on running at a track? My friend with a GT500 didn't run a meth kit until he started getting heat soak with his blower swap. if you plan on running around a roadcourse then maybe I could see you wanting in, but the intercooler should be able to handle it no problem.

No i wont really be doing any road course racing. The occasional autox, some highway pulls or flying out my old country road to my house is about it will see for now. I just DO NOT want to blow this thing to pieces

Ok. I honestly don't see a need to get a meth kit. The best way to not blow up your engine is low boost really.
