WTF? Hood Scoop

I am getting really sick of looking at this.. There's a gap between my hood scoop and hood just on the front fin.. I have taken it off multiple times, using new bolts, grinding parts off, everything trying to get it seated but it still sticks up I'm about to take it off and blow it up haha.. Anyone else had a problem with the stock scoop?

No because there's still room between the grille and hood.. I grinded down those cheap plastic pieces with the clips and bolts in them so that the scoop could sit flush on the hood.. But the front still sticks up

Re: WTF? Hood Scoop

I always thought it was based on where the scoop is sitting on the hood. The hood is so curved that if the scoop isn't positioned perfectly you will get that gap near the front fins.

But damn, I've never seen the honeycomb actually push the scoop up.

Re: WTF? Hood Scoop

When I got the hood from a fellow member (from his GT) it didn't have any gap...and his scoop hadn't been taken off at all.

After I had the front clip redone the scoop was put back on and it does have a slight gap, so I imagine it can be based on how it's positioned on the hood itself....one day I'll take it off and get it perfect again.

I have this issue, i just said F it. I know it sucks, mainly because I could see through it in some of the angles when taking pictures, but you just learn to adjust i guess? idk. it sucks either way.
