Lca/shock pointers

Doing my LCAs and rear shocks tomorrow. Whats the best way at assault this beast? should I put her butt first on the ramps or just jack-stands on the axle? I know the axle has been known to shift when you do the LCAs, but one super powerful manlyman can handle whatever adversity this little project brings, right?
