New heads

I currently have a stock 2v with a kenne bell sc the car is putting out 360 rwhp this is on a conservative tune seeing that I still have a stock bottom end. I'm getting ready to purchase a new block with forged internals and would like some opinions on what heads to get . My goal is 500 rwhp. Can I achieve this just by having my stock heads worked over or should I look at the trick flow and patriot heads ?

Re: New heads

Ive never heard of anyone getting anywhere close to 450rwhp with these. My buddy has them with stage 2 cams and full bolt ons. He made 378 at the wheels. But yes the TFS heads are well worth it if you have the cash. But dont expect much from the cam that comes with the top end kit. You would be better off to order the heads and a different set of blower cams from Nick at MHS(Modular Head Shop)

That is a stroker motor and on an engine dyno. A stock 4.6 with TFS heads and a stage 2 cam wont see close to that

Stock motor with TFS heads TF claims to put down 335-360 to the wheels... I've heard 3 ppl on this site confirm that they do

Yes thats very true. But you are not going to gain another 100 HP just by switching cams. The OP didnt mention that he had a stroker so that post in MM&FF is just giving him false hope. Realistically with a stock bottom end he can expect between 350-375 with the right cam choice.

Thanks guys for responding ur opinions really helped out. These heads will work great with my KENNE BELL supercharger and a set of custom cams. I want to purchase a block with forged internals do u think I could reach close to the numbers I want without doing a stroker kit?

Yes. I don't recommend stroker kits for forced induction applications. There longevity isn't as good and isn't worth the extra 30 hp and $1000
