Is your car a DD?..

A tuner, CAI, O/R X or H-pipe, and cat back exhaust!... Are all good for that!...

Best bang for your buck in my opinion would be a hand held tuner like SCT. It is a mod that you can really build from. A good set of springs will help improve the stance and handling of your ride for less than $300. Have fun modding!

exhaust, cai, gears (but gears will hurt mileage on highway), shifter, lowering springs, rims/tires, tinted windows, dress up stuff, tune (if done right), under drive pulley, stuff like that should be ok.

Yes its an auto.

---------- Post added at 05:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:01 PM ----------

I don't want to mess with the gears or rear end. Not trying to build a race car. This is my daily driver, just want to Pep it up a bit. So flash the computer, cai, and maybe exhaust but I know that can be expensive.

A tuner will be your best first mod to get in my opinion!.. Not only does it improve your throttle response but also your shift points and pressure!.. You can pick one up for about $300!.. Then an O/R mid pipe!.. You can generally get one for about $100-$200!.. Then either go cat back exhaust or a CAI!... Cat back will go for about $400 and a good CAI for about $100-$200!...

I hope this helps ya a bit more!..

Thanks for all the input guys. This is my first Mustang and I'm not very knowledgeable about cars. I'm getting into it and can't wait to do these mods

Re: cost affective perforce upgrades for my 02gt?

I'm in the same boat as you dude. I got the $75 CAI from american muscle and I had a fairly noticeable increase in power. Installation is easy as well. I have the SCT tuner from AM on the way, too. Next I'm gonna get the magna flow exhaust from AM, then I'm debating getting a carbon fiber hood and trunk to lighten my car's weight.

Hood is already fiberglass... a cf hood wont save u much and its expensive.

Well my hood has a few dings and needs to be repainted, so it would cost me about the same cause paint would be $4-500

Re: cost affective perforce upgrades for my 02gt?

If your car is an Automatic then NUMBER ONE mod should be gears and a tuner. This will be your MOST noticeable gains. FAR more noticeable than Exhaust or a CAI will be. Get that pig out of the hole faster! Gears will definately put a smile on your face and you will notice a difference. You won't notice ANY difference with a CAI except sound.

Don't fear the gear I was running a 4.10 in my DD 2002 GT with full exhaust, CAI, 70mm throttle body and C&L upper. On the highway teh fuel mileage difference wasn't much worse if any. Again it depended how I drove.
