K&N or Air Raid

I have a BBK fender CAI but I herd that there's a chance of sucking in water if you drive through a big enough puddle so should I invest in an air raid or a K&N CAI?

Re: K&N or Air Raid

Personally, I really like the K&N FIPK kit. I use K&N on every single on of my vehicles. They make their intake tube out of a plastic carbon composite material that really helps keep intake temps down (more power) and they send you a sheet that shows average power increase when using their kit.

Re: K&N or Air Raid

If you're driving through puddles big enough to suck in water then you're driving in the wrong places!

That being said you can't go wrong with K&N or AIRAID or JLT

Re: K&N or Air Raid

They say that the Airaid filter quality is the Best material on the market, I use the Airaid CAI on my Camaro, but I use the Steeda CAI on my Mustang.

As long as your inner fenders are still there, there VERY little chance the filter will ever get wet. If it does it's likely the whole car will be flood damaged/totaled. As for plastic v. metal unless your at the drag strip cooling completely down there's very little if any advantage to plastic air inlet tube. Think about it, if it's 90* outside and you drive let's say 20-30 minutes or miles everything under the hood becomes heat soaked. If there any real Hp advantage don't you think all companies would be using a composite, so they could claim higher HP gains then the competitors?
