Crap. Best thing to do is slow down. Most agencies are using laser these days, unless you live off the beaten path.

I have the escort 9500ix and if I forget it in a car at home I turn around... i have a video on youtube where I've picked up cops 2.5 km ahead of me.. it instills my confidence at nighttime especially because you never know if that car conning towards you is a cop or not...

I payed full price because I was impatient and wanted it at best buy lol. You could probably find it cheaper somewhere else. It was 500.

Re: radar detectors?

Personally I like the Cobra XRS R10G or the Cobra XRS 9970G. The R10 is better though.. And to beat laser, just get a laser jammer. I like the Laser Interceptor Generation 8 Laser Interceptor HP High Power - QUAD... But hey... I have a bit of a need for speed... dam* video games.

Re: radar detectors?

I've found the XRS 9970G for 219.95 on bestradardetectors.net.. That's a pretty good price I think. The R10G is 299.95.. but does more and is more concealable. The jammers are expensive out the a$$ but are the only thing guaranteed to block a laser from any type of laser gun and warn you at the same time giving you enough time to slow down and shut the jammer off so that they don't think it's weird they can't get a lock on you. Then once shut off and they do get a lock, you are travelling the speed limit and they think that it's their gun that messed up.

Your best detectors / jammers / shields are professionally installed in the grill and rear window then wired up to the dash somewhere. I saw one sweet system that was housed in a typical dome light and had detectors that clamped to the rear view mirror and the rear window at the roofline. Required removing the headliner but it was so slick. Awesome unit aand I've got no idea who made it. That car also had 4 radar jammers and a bunch of anti detection trickery. Even had a gps system that knows what the current speed is and it sends out readings indicating a speed below the posted max. Sneaky **** man...

Re: radar detectors?

Yep.. being sneaky is one of the reasons I like the R10G and this particular laser jammer. I don't like having a lot of wires or gadgets in plain sight. I don't mind having a GPS or a Tuner hanging in the window, but I don't wanna get pulled over and have a cop sse a tuner, gps, radar detector, and jammers.. although the look on his face would probably be priceless. This is one reason I would get the jammers that can be integrated into the body lines or nooks of a car, a radar detector that is up near the roofline but the display is handheld and hideable, a touchscreen tuner that I can mold into my dash, and a stereo system that has the touchscreen on it with built in GPS. Then the car is fully functional and very clean looking... And now after saying all that.. I want about 5 grand to go do all that.. hmm...
