Re: What does this mean?

Usually when your check engine light flashes it means your having an engine damaging misfire.

What do you mean by engine damaging, that it's just misfiring or you really broke something

As in detonation or pre-ignition that could burn up a piston or overheat your cat.

I Lightly sprayed my engine down and not directly on the top and my car started running poorly my cel came on so I took it to autozone and they said it was misfiring on cylinder 8 so I replaced plugs and it still runs like garbage

When ever you spray water on a engine you should have all electrical parts covered as best as you can with plastic and the engine should be warm and running. Newer cars with COP's it's a bad idea to spray at all, best to clean by hand. Sounds like the coil/cop is damaged.

Re: What does this mean?

Flashing Check Engine light means you have a serious problem and should shut down the engine ASAP. Some engines, if the problem is severe enough, are even programmed to go into what they call "Limp mode" although I don't think ours are new enough to do that. Not sure though. Without codes, it's difficult to say what the culprit is. Replacing coils and plugs would definately take care of the misfire though and would be a good time to upgrade.

Typically a flashing check eng light that goes indicates that the upstream O2 are malfunctioning in and out specs. Check codes.

Hey it's no big deal just pull out your cop thats missfiring get an air compressor and blow off all the water that's standing on top and around your spark plug then put you cop back on and remove your battery cable for ab 1 minute to reset the cil amd you should be good to go..I have a cervini ram air hood and it happens to me Everytime I get caught out in rain and forget to close my vents.. Note if you have water on top of that one plug then there's a good chance you have water on more if not all of them..

Go to your local auto zone and pick up a new coil.. Had to buy one last week for my number 4 and it was only 40.99.. Fixed mine right up
