Which brand provides a deeper sound, Flowmaster or Magnaflow?

I have magnaflow magnapack catback exhaust with 3.5in tips and a magnaflow true x o/r xpipe with bbk tuned headers. Its sounds great. Its deep but still has that authentic Mustang growl to it. I had flowmaster 40s on it before. N my opinion i like the mf better but that's just me. Go to americanmuscle.com and u can listen to different exhausts

If you go to americanmuscle.com they have clip sounds of many different brands. I have Flowmaster Thunder series with BBK long tube headers. The exhaust is cut right behind the offset mufflers. The pipes are dummies and ment for looks. I love love love them

Re: Exhaust

Ive always ran the FLOWMASTERS on all 5 of my stangs and IMO nothing sounds better than a deep tone FM on a V8 Stang.

I Mustang has a real distinct sound. I know i can tell if its a 4.6 or 5.0 from a mile away. Am has all the sound clips u need to figure out what sound u want.

Flowmaster sounds great but i was more partial to the magnaflow. Just personal preference. But those 2 r my favorites. Unless u can afford borla

Re: Exhaust

Yah each mustang engine has it's own distinct exhaust note...you can tell a 2v from a 4v from a 3v from a 5.0 pushrod etc.

I've heard tons of flowmaster setups and a few of the magnaflow setups...magnapacks with longtubes and an off road h-pipe were my favorite...that bark and deepness is amazing on the 2v's.

Re: Exhaust

As for now I am running with the stock manifolds, catted x-pipe and a set of flowmaster super 10's. The car is very sweet sounding. I'll try and post a clip soon.

Sweet avatar. My car lopes a bit as well, just a rough idle. MAF and IAC are both clean and function correctly. I've heard of our cars doing this.

All mustang are gonna lope a little bit if not then your car is not running. Just bigger Cam duratikns makes it lope different. But anyway go borla or magnaflow magnapacks the best sounding exhaust in my opinion. I have magnapacks with or xpipe and 4 inch tips and its awesome.

I did some research on my flows and found I bought super 44s. Didn't know it then, but I like the way they spool up. LAH, meaning loud as hell with a high whining sound. Step on the gas and they let out a mean growl. Hmmm, wonder what happens when I install my BBK manifolds? My engine has has a tick or two but I have to learn how to correct that to get max performance.

Re: Exhaust

Ok, I installed my BBK shortys and I lost the beautiful high whine. Its now a deep growl. my stang does not have the RPM range to reproduce the whine. Dang, guess stock headers have use after all.

Thats why u either put long tubes or keep your stock manifolds. Shorty headers do nothing to our stangs.

If you want good headers go with the BBK long tubes

MF is wicked under forced induction. It is totally agressive in sound. I heard them on a friend of mine before he sold his stang for a jeep. I was totally impressed. He always got street race challenges. No doubt the exhaust caused that problem.

His setup:

PI heads- 2 valve, TF intake manifold, fenderweld intake, v-tech SC, BBK LTs, MF pipes, OR X-pipes brand unk. Exahust note kicks the heart rate up a few notches. It had a "I wanna brawl sound". LOL
