Anyone have any pointers on installing long tubes on an 02 GT? Mac headers with an x pipe.

Easiest way lower the engine to where u can get to all the manifold bolts or take the engine completely out. U can do it with the engine in but its a pain. But what ever route u take u will have to remove the k member to take the manifolds out and install the lt's

I don't remember it can be done in under six hours if u can get the car high enough. A lift would be better man

Re: Headers

Lift the car, drop the K member, then use the engine lift to lower the motor down out the bottom a few inches. If you do that it shouldnt be more than an 8 hour job

I'm surprised they did it. Most shops won't touch a car that has to do with catalytics' and stuff because of the possible fines that can be brought upon them.

Re: Headers

You Don't have to remove the cradle , its tough with it in ,but you do not have to
I put long tubes in MY Mach 1 in the fall ,and that engine's wider than a 2 valve for sure, just unbolt mounts and jack up the engine and wrestle them in ,
took me a few hours a day over a couple weekends , I'd say 8 - 10 hours overall
oh ya ,and I did mine on my back in the driveway, OLD SCHOOL

Pacesetters are good. Have them on my 4v no problems. I think I got mine off of summit racing they have cheaper headers than any place I looked.
