4.10 gear trouble

Hey I just had 4.10 8.8 installed at a shop I'm getting a bad vibration the mechanic said its a bent pinion so I contacted AM and I bought a new set of Ford racing gears, AM said that they have never seen a bent pinion before but if I take pictures and send it back they can probably warranty it, so in the mean time I ordered new gears so that I don't have to pay the shop to take the "bent" ones out for pictures and have to pay labour twice ,,, so I guess my question is do you think I actually have a bent pinion ?? Let me know what you think it might be!

Ps I dropped the drive shaft and rotated the rear tires and where the driveshaft is mounted to the rear diff it's like a circle flange it rotates up and down, side to side and that's why the mechanic is saying its bent

The shop won't give me a break on labour because I supplied the "defective" parts..

Re: 4.10 gear trouble

Hmmm, I won't give my Stang to a Jack-o-lantern even if they paid me a million dollars. I have never replaced diff components yet, but if I got it right you will need to resupply the eitire kit or so to refit/rebuild the system. Check the ring for unusual wear, by removing the cover; change the oil while your at it. Some jack-o-lanterns don't have a clue but claim to be capable; earns exerience at the cost of the customer then claim defective parts. If you really want to get to the bottom, find a pro and figure out if the shop that did the install was at fault then let us know who they are.

I always recommend having gears installed by a shop that will provide a written warranty to cover any installation mistakes
