It just died

O I started my car this morning 2003 GT 5 speed. Letting it warm up for 10 mins then went to leave. I got it seen that it was idling low rpms so a gave it so has then pushed in the clutch to back up and it just died. It started right up but the check engine light was on. Any ideas? I though it was the MAF but I haven't messed with it.

Sounds like the IAC is clogged. All it took was pushing the throttle and letting of to push anything in it to block airflow. Common problem in these cars.

IAC is the idle air control. I believe it tis the tube with the black rectangular box on it that comes off your intake. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

Usually when the pulleys go bad youll hear squeaking from them but knocking could be possible also I guess, and make sure you get UDP that arnt the piggy back style for the crank

Your stock idle should be around 600~650... If you have a tuner you can set it.

Do you have cats on your exhaust? Mine did that and it was knocking and it turned out it was the cats. On one side the stuff inside the cat broke up a little and it sounded like the motor was about to blow up. Mine had low rpm's and no power. Hope this helps.

What I did was took the x pipe off and cut the cats off and gutted them a cheaper way then buying an o/r pipe and I welded it back. So no not really any way to clean. If you can take your exhaust off and shake it you will hear the pieces but you might be able to go under the car and hit it softly with a hammer or rubber mallet and try to see if you hear any rattling.

Most of them have a little rattle too, so don't let it scare you if it sounds like something is loose in there.

Okay I seen that. When I turn Mu car off it sounds like there is still air coming from somewhere then it stops after like 5 seconds

Okay probably isn't the PCV but yank it real quick and inspect it. After that we move on to finding your vacuum leak since thats what out sounds like to me.
