Rethreaded spark plug

Okay so I changed my spark plugs the other day and everything was working fine until one day it started missing really bad so I popped the hood and was missing the front spark plug on the drivers side I took it to my mechanic and he told me that the threads were striped so we tried using one of those threading kits and now when I start it there a constant popping sound from the exhaust what are ur thoughts and ideas

Re: Rethreaded spark plug

The noise is for sure coming from the exhaust? If air is escaping around the spark plug it will sounds like a popping sound.

Re: Rethreaded spark plug

I'm not sure if there is a way to pull the insert back out in the car. I have seen them put in but never seen one taken out. Hopefully if its not right your mechanic knows what to do to make it right.
