Tire size help

Just purchased a set of 2000 Cobra R rims with no tires. I think the rim size is 18x9.
Does anyone have any idea what size tires should be used with these rims? I don't want low profile tires. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Tire size help

255/40-18

They are lower profile than stock due to the wider wheel size... but they're not too bad. This is the same size as my front tires.

Re: Tire size help

You should be able to go up to a 275/40/18 without any issues. Wider than that would probably not be recommended. I'm running 265/35/18's on 18x9's on the front.

Re: Tire size help

They are considered low profile because the side wall is smaller than that of a smaller wheel. The tires are the same diameter so that your speedo will not be off...

I suggest 255 for the tire size for an 18x9, and I actually want to go to 245 because the 255 are flush with the fender on the front and throw dirt all over the side of the car when turning... just keep that in mind...

backs are 305 and love that... wider the better on the back... lol
