Well nos and some other bolt ons but if you go that route be prepared to buy a new engine...a supercharger would probably be the cheapest and safest way

Re: 500hp

Supercharger, Turbo, Nitrous. Those are the only ways with the 4.6 2v. And if you have the stock bottom end your gonna end up with about 500 pieces instead of 500 hp

Drop a huge crate engine in it. There its no feasible way your going to make 500 hp without significant boost and a rebuilt bottom end.

Re: 500hp

You can make a NA 4.6L with 500 HP. You'll have to upgrade every part of your engine though. But it can be done. It really won't be feasable to drive on the street.. it'll be a drag car/ track only vehicle. You will have no mileage, but it can be done.

Re: 500hp

Im assuming you want to bypass the cost of a supercharger? Either way.....its gonna cost you a pretty penny and just slappin a SC on that 2v and trying to make 500HP will leave you on the side of the road.

This is true. The cost to do a NA 500 HP engine would be much more than just getting a supercharger kit. I would recommend getting the SC and a tune. If you go the SC route, and you're dead set on 500 HP, make sure you seriously know what you're getting into. Don't just buy a kit and throw it on. You'll need to upgrade your internals. Why do you want '500 HP' anyways? If you're looking to snap your neck and do some awesome burnouts and launch quickly, gears are much much cheaper..

How do you plan to do a NA build and put 500 at the tires?? Before i bought my blower, i had the goal of 400 hp and wanted to do it NA. I found that getting 400 at the tires NA was going to be quite a task and my wallet was going to have to be pretty heavy to make it happen. The best NA build ive seen out of a NA 2V is a little over 425 at the wheel. That was lightweight block and rotating assembly, high compression TFS heads with mild work done and a 5 angle valve job, MHS Stage 3+ cams, and the Logan Sheetmetal intake. Thats the best of the best in 2V power and was no where close to 500 at the wheels... Not to mention that it was over $10,000 for everything and you couldnt hardly drive it on the street

Re: 500hp

the stock bottom end wont handle much over 450rwhp reliably if even that... so 500rwhp will require a major overhaul.

yeah.. $10K.. The thing is, I have customers who come in every now and then, drop off an engine and a credit card, a list of what they want the engine to do, and then they walk out. 500 HP can be achieved, but I didn't say it would be easy. It would take an entire overhaul of the engine. Every single part would be upgraded, and it wouldn't be streetable. But.. when cost isn't an issue, many things people wouldn't normally think about become possible. Oh, I forgot to mention, it won't run on pump gas either.. if that gives you any idea of what we're dealing with..

When you say bottom end is that pistons, rods, crank or do you mean block?

The engine block, pistons, connecting rods, and crankshaft.

Re: 500hp

you could buy a used 03/04 cobra motor and t56 already together, put a pulley/tune on it and do some fuel upgrades on your stock system etc etc and end up with 600 crank hp rather easy. Cost will be about as much as building but another way to go about it.

Thats using forced induction. We all know the sky is the limit when using a power adder, but OP said he wanted NA and we were debating whether you could get 500rwhp NA.

What the hell is all this talk about plasti dipping? It's the stupidest thing I've ever heard and to do it to internals is just idiotic. Forged is always the way to go dont be a cheap *** and use plastic. Come on now. Were not making toy cars.
