Stingers

Right now I have an o/r x and flowmaster 44s.. My catback is all screwed up so I'm getting a new one. I like the Borla Stingers but the vids on YouTube suck.. So does anyone know if these are louder? Deeper? More aggressive than flows? I found the catback for $100 cheaper than AM for some reason on summitt.

Re: Stingers

The Stingers are crazy loud and deep. Those with an o/r x sound great but are REALLY loud. Conversations inside the car are shouting matches..

Re: Stingers

i love my stingers on my cobra, very loud over stock but not sure compared to flowmasters. They are a round straight through muffler so vs a chambered flowmaster (generally the case) they should be louder.

Re: Stingers

Spector, You are the first person i have run into with them on a 4V. All the 4V guys around here have bassani or flowmaster. I would love to hear them

This one doesnt suck but note that you need real speakers. Everything is going to sound like crap on a phone/laptop.

Stingers FTW!

Re: Stingers

they sound different than the 2v thats for sure, but the 2v should also sound good. You could always just go no mufflers lol

Nah.. I decided to keep the 44s cause they sound sexy..and are loud as hell.. I doubt stingers r louder but anyway I have to get some custom tailpipes made now..if they made a 44 catback then I would go ahead and do that but they only make the super 40 catback which is way quieter than 44s

I have definitely seen catbacks with the 44 muffler. But the stingers are a lot louder than the 44. I prefer the original 40 myself.

Re: Stingers

I heard the 44's on a 2v GT and the Borla Stingers on jimmy_beaner's 2v GT in person.

Brian had an off road x pipe with his stingers and the flowmaster 2v had 2 cats.

The stingers were definitely louder without question, and I don't think the hi flows kept too much sound from the 44's.

Not saying your 44's won't be loud and sound good, but I do know those stingers with an o/r mid were LOUD

Two gt cars side by side one with 44 one with the stingers. Stingers were quieter at idle but way way louder at revs. Then we put offroad bbk H pipes on both cars and the stingers were stupid loud... owner went to other mufflers. There almost as loud as the slp lm 1 exhaust. the car with the 44 was a ordered catback. Got it from a local race shop. Check out the original 40 with an offroad H sounds awesome. Perfect oldschool sound. There is a little drone.

Yep, Borla doesn't make a cat back for the 94-98s but you can just buy a generic car back and then swap the mufflers out

The stingers are similar to the magnapacks but they sound different. There is no way your 44's are going to be louder than stingers unless someone gutted the insides of the 44's (which would be kinda hard and pointless)
