HELP!

Ok so i was getting on the interstate and smoke starting coming from behind my har (exhaust) so i kept going thinking it was just water hitting the hot pipes, bc it rained earlier that day, anyways kept going and smoke kept coming out. So i pulled over and opened my hood and there was anti frerze all over the my hood (undrtneath the hood) and smoke pured out when i opened it. So i work at a garage anyways and was on my way to work to i kept driving. It was smoking from my exhuast from 1st gear to 3rd then it stopped and ran like normal. Got to work and had my dad look at it, he said it could b a freeze plug. Then had another boy look at it and he said it could be the water pump...got the head mechanic to look at it and he said my lower intake manifold is busted bc undetneath the intake there is a puddle of anti freeze sitting on top of the block. Just wanting to know what yall think is wrong with it!

Oh and some more info....looked like anti freeze was coming from the back of the driver side cylender head.

Did you check your oil? Make sure it's not a head gasket. Idk if it would smoke if it was your water pump they just leak when it goes bad. And as far as a freeze plug I had a freeze plug go on my 91 Lincoln with a 4.6 and it would only leak when the water would cycle through. I suggest putting it up on a lift and look at the back of the engine and see if there is a trail of burned antifreeze . My guess would be the intake manifold but checking and make sure before you start throwing parts at it.

Re: HELP!

Yep I'd agree... I can really see those plastic manifolds cracking easily. All they are good for is Savin weight and bein cheap... Top it off, let it warm up, cycle, then watch it to see where it's leakin...
