If u rounded the bolt you did something wrong...used too big socket, or used one with tooo many points that let it slip.

also you can try PB BLASTER to break loose the bolts and is better to put new bolts if your planning of removing it in the future

otherwise will call dealer(they actually install aftermarket parts bought elsewhere!) and a couple local shops for an install quote.

btw, any of you guys used or know someone that likes dynomax or mac cat backs(i know the prochamber mid pipe is the cat's meow!). was wondering about their rep. as most everybody uses flows or magna/borla/slp etc
I've had a variety of different cat back exhaust and my favorite has been the MAC cat backs. They are cheaper in price, they have chrome rolled tips, and install was so simple ( just take your time though ). I bought mine for $319 from TREperformance.com, and ended up buying my o/r H pipe from CJ pony parts for $140 on sale. My car roars down the road, I love it!

I like mac to but the only thing I didn't like was that it wasent stainless steel and in two years that I had them in my old explorer they began to rust from the crome tips

Re: Offroad pipe install

I hate to sound like an ***.. But my stock H-pipe of 100k miles took me about 15 mins to get off. And that time includes how long it took me to jack the car up. Lol. O/R x-pipe was installed shortly after. Took maybe an hour total from start to finish.

Easiest way to get to that passenger side bolt is to let them all get completely cold. Then spray each bolt with a generous supply of PB Blaster. Let penetrate for about ten minutes, and while you're letting it penetrate you can take off the bolts at the back part of the h-pipe that connects to the cat-back exhaust. Then let it rest on your chest as you work on the header bolts. make a Frankenstein ratchet of ten different extensions and three different swivels for the passenger side. Apply even pressure until it just goes. For the driver side you can just have extensions because you have enough room to get at it.

And it might help that I used a Bassani x-pipe and Bassani is known for their awesome construction, quality, and fit.

same here I took an hour 30min. the hard part is holding it and that's about it and the x-pipe was a three piece so it went in there quick, then aligned the mufflers and tips make sure no pipe hits nothing and all set

Of course those figures are simplified and rounded down. The reality of the situation was inconceivable.
