Short Shifter

Hey guys I've been looking at this shifter in AM for a while and now it's on sale this month. Anybody currently using this?

don't recommend it trust me stack racing is made off poor quality materials I had bot clutch cable from them didn't last a month also the firewall adjuster treated screw didn't tight sow it was always loose, and so on, I recommend you waisting 50 more in a better quality short shifter like steeda because the brand is the second best out there the other brand consider the number one would me mgw ,if you buy that special on sale its only goin to bring you trouble plus you wounded installed a low quality part in one of the most delicate component of your drivetrain rigth

Re: Short Shifter

i ran the Steeda Short Shifter in my V6. It was awesome. Not sure about this brand. I would also think about Hurst or MGW; heard good things about those company's.

Re: Short Shifter

I've never heard anything about that shifter. I use a Steeda Tri-ax and absolutely love it. Many other people would second my claims. Also MGW is the other top name... You'll be using the shifter everytime you drive the car so I would nut up and spend the extra couple bucks for a big name shifter. Especially since it's such a cheap, but so important part!

Understandable. I wasn't trying to sound like an ***. I was just trying to get across the importance. Haha. I upgraded to my Tri-ax a week after I bought my car and I was pissed I even waited that long. Loo

99-early 01 use a T45 transmission but in the middle of production in 2001 they implemented a TR3650 transmission for the five speeds that was used through year 2004.

I know that but I was wondering why? Is there any advantage or disadvantage between the two? Seems strange they would make a change in the middle of production right?

steeda tri ax= the bees knees, worth the extra jingle. What other mod are you gonna make that you will literally feel all the time when driving the car.

From what I understand they are both good transmissions for what they are used for.. I think they just started using the TR3650 for the updated gear ratios.

A shiatsu massager in the seat. A turbo. Heated steering wheel. Huge subwoofers. I guess there are a few mods you can add and feel each time you drive.. :p

Pro 5.0 wouldn't be a bad route either.

My vote is Steeda Tri-Ax or MGW. Pro 5.0 isn't a bad shifter, but I like the Tri-Ax better. Most of those knock-off shifters (B&M, Stack Racing)are just a trimmed down stock version.

Re: Short Shifter

i have the steeda tri-ax and love it! other choice would have been the pro 5.0, but figured they're just about the same, and i got the tri-ax for about (i Think) 175 bucks. e-z install, e-z to slap through the gears , and e-z on the wallet!

---------- Post added at 08:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:12 PM ----------

oh... forgot to mention, if you want to see a super install vid, it's on you tube. if you can't find it let me know and i'll send the hyper-link!
