Replacing Convertible top..?

Found a brand new covertible top for my 1999 Gt on ebay for a good price. My question is, how hard is it to replace it? Its just the material that I wana replace. Does it just come off? Or should i take it to a sho and have it done?

Thanks for any help

Re: Replacing Convertible top..?

let a shop do it, and look into an 03/04 cobra cloth top... not much more but looks MUCH better.

Will do. Is it more durable or something? And will it fit on a 99 gt?

Re: Replacing Convertible top..?

they are just cloth vs a cheaper looking vinyl. Probably overall about as durable~

I purchased the cobra top over the vinyl haven't installed it yet but the quality speaks for itself. The name of the material is rpc twillfast. Having it installed by a local man for 300 he does this for a living doing it on the side for me. If you have the money get the better top. Also he told me it would take him 8 hrs to do.

Then it would probably take me weeks to finish it...
