H pipe or x pipe

Hey guys i have an 01 gt and I'm looking into mid pipe next I wanna do equal length shorty headers but I don't know what mid pipe to go with. I want the old school muscle car sound and wanted to use bbk but I can't find an h pipe that fit shorty headers

I do believe that BBK does not make a full length h pipe. So either get the full length x or look into a different brand of shorty headers

I wouldn't recommend dumps.. I had tailpipes then I got dumps.. It's a matter of opinion but I hate them.. It got rediculous loud and rattles inside the car.. But actually got quieter outside the car, and is just gurgly now.. Getting tailpipes on tomorrow

Yea the prochamber quiets it down a little supposedly compared to an h or x. But a lot of people have em and like em. They don't make a full length h pipe?

You probably want to get an h pipe. I've hears than a x pipe is a little raspy. And DEFINITELY DO NOT DUMP YOUR EXHAUST! It sounds terrible!

Re: H pipe or x pipe

I live in California and must keep my CATs for emission test. so I installed shorty headers and had the Muffler shop make me an X-Pipe. I did this with both my GT and V6 Mustang

I'm getting bbk LTs with the catted h pipe. They make a catted version on the x pipe as well.

Ok. I was gonna say to get slp but since you already lowered your car, you'd have holes in it in minutes.

Re: H pipe or x pipe

Have an 04 GT with bbk X but the drone was horrible. Traded it for the jba h and wow. I love it. So much better on the interstate. less drone.

How much did they charge you to make the custom x pipe?

I had a good muffler shop make me one for $30 and it really improved my exhaust flow and sound.
