SCT tuner

I have an automatic 04 GT and the SCT tuner. My car tops out at 125-130, and was wondering if i could change that with my tuner?

Re: SCT tuner

if you're talking top speed limited by governor, then yes you can change it. it's an option within the tune, which you can change yourself

Don't see much of a need to change the top end
Unless you plan on getting that ride impounded !! Just a thought man

Re: SCT tuner

if you go to program vehicle, custom tunes, select which octane tune you want to use and adjust settings. IMPORTANT: it is easy to accidentally change something you don't intend to, so you should scroll down and see which setting is selected (has the checkmarK) first, before entering ''select". it is confusing, 'cause select is the go back button, but really what you want to do is "cancel" if you do not want to change that parameter.

if you have computer, you can make these changes first on your handheld before actually going out and dropping the downloaded into your cars ecu, and i would recommend checking, then DOUBLE CHECKING, that you have not changed anything else.

if you need help i'd be happy to walk you through it later, just let me know and i'll send you my cell

There's the difference. Altitude also makes a difference too. The vert is a lot less aerodynamic.

cool story bro... The only data I found on top speed is for the coupe, 141. 130 indicated in the vert is about right. The worse aero and speedo error can account for the discrepancy easily.

Both of our cars have tunes in them!.. Both speedos read accurately!.. Don't know why you find it hard to believe!.. Got another buddy with a Built Vert had his up to 150+!!....

A built car is a lot different. Mustang speedos have varying levels of error. I find out hard to believe because that's what the physics and specs say. Do the run, have fun, but I don't think there is anything wrong with the car if it peaks at 130...

I just tested my claim in a safe area....I got to 130 and hit a small bump and the car started bouncing so I pulled out of it, however I was just starting my pull in 4th gear and was at 130@~3500rpm....
