You can try to get your 60ft down a little.

4.10 gears will probably take 0.6 secs off if you can hook up..

Drag radials and good suspension should really help. If your spinning through gears that's not helping.how good is your clutch?

Re: First time at track with bullitt

your 60ft isnt horrible, 2.1 is about right on street tires for the car, 2.0 would get you .2 better in the quarter though~ if you can cut it down to 1.8 or so that would be even better of course (every .1 60ft is about .2 quarter mile)

Re: First time at track with bullitt

these bullitts dont really make that much power uptop near the redline. Id stick to where your shifting at now and and just work on them gears and the 60.

Umm what sort of gears are you running? No gear I know of lasts that long unless you have 2.73s or longer.

The best way to tell is by jacking up the rear end with the car in gear and spinning the tire one full turn. Just count how many times the driveshaft spins. I'd peg you at 4.10s or possibly 4.56.

Re: First time at track with bullitt

That would make his top speed in each gear lower than stock... With stock gears I can run 2nd to 65mph, and 3rd to 100. IF this is true he has lower than stock gears

Yeah I realized that. But what hes saying about 2400 in 5th is the part that doesnt add up.

I have 3.55s and I don't turn 2400 until I hit around 78mph in 5th. The only problem I'm seeing is that with the speeds you are posting, it just doesn't match up to what gears you think you have. With my 3.55s I'm hitting redline at 5800rpm at 38-39mph. The only way you could possibly hit 60 in first would be if you have an aftermarket transmission with whatever gears you have. Unless you have gears below the 3.0 mark.

Most of these numbers are probably off because hardly anyone's speedo is calibrated.

I know mine is off after swapping to 373 from stock.

Re: First time at track with bullitt

are you shifting right before you cross the line, if so you may wish to hold each gear a BIT past peak power to offset the need for the extra shift etc~

I think his speedo, it has to be wrong.

Load up a Speedo app on your phone and check it against your speedometer that you'll find that it doesn't match up.
