installing catback

quik question, if anyone knows from firsthand experience...

i'm about to install my cat back. will be done in the driveway on stands/ramps. i do not want to drop the rear, so: will i be able to get away with 1 single cut just behind the mufflers and still get the over axle pipes out no problem?

was hoping not to cut the pipe 'in the bend' in an effort to preserve(for re-use, or sale) the stock units.

thx-
j

Re: installing catback

you can remove the lower control arm easily enough for the most part~ but thats about like dropping the rear

I put flow master 40s on mine and I cut it once and got the stock pipes out without doing anything to the rear

The trick is to jack it up from the side so the rear end hangs down some so it gives plenty of room to slide the pipes through. You will have to do each side that way. I was able to install my cat back on a 94 w/no problem.

Hopefully this works for you.

Re: installing catback

cantlin-
did you need to pull the tires (i was planning to back onto my homemade ramps) and did you just make the 1 cut like a couple inches behind the mufflers outlets?

thx-

No I left my tires on when I did it. Backing it on the ramps should work

I just used a floor jack and stands but ramps should work
