Re: Cobra front bumper

there are two the 99-01 and the 03-04 version.

I like the 03/04 version better.

You will need a grill delete (with radiator cover as MOST kits leave out for some reason....) fog lights and bezels, and chin spoiler (the chin spoiler is NOT cheap FYI)

Other than that there is a huge hole where the heat exchanger goes and you wont have so you need to put something there~

finally, the front bumper (03/04 version only) is a bit higher where it bolts up between the headlights so the stock hood wont work correctly and will have to be modified or replaced FYI. It will rub here.

I love my 03/04 termi front end but honestly I'm diggin' what I've seen of the '01 cobra fronts with a chin. Spector is right about the stock hood rubbing and having alignment issues. I have to slam my hood for the latch to catch.

The '03/04 cobra front will make your car look sick and hungry. Here's mine:

The grill delete is different than the Mach I grill delete you need one from a cobra (2R3Z-8C299-AAA) its around $50.00. Withe the bezels and fog lamps you will need 12 7mm screws to hold the bezels and fog lamps to the bumper. The chin spoiler needs around 8 push in clips and 5 screws with c clips retainers. The top of your radiator support has To have new holes drilled further back so you can mount the upper bumper Mount to prevent hitting the hood. My car is supercharged and I added an LFP heat exchanger.

Re: Cobra front bumper

yea you dont need the little black part that comes with the mach 1 kit, but they always forget the radiator cover part. It goes between the horse and headlight alignment panel, without it is looks very bad around the opening. The correct part also wraps around the top area where the radiator cover part is~

Does anyone know if I were to get the 99-01 cobra front bumper if I would need to do all the modifications for it to fit?

Yeah I tried looking on eBay and all they had were the 03-04 ones.. The 03-04 ones looks sick but I don't really see many 99-01 cobras much or GTs with the front either

Look at the add the 99-01 is for an OEM ford bumper and the 03-04 is for an aftermarket. My friend Brent has the 99-01 on his 01 GT and it looks good

Is there a difference between a front bumper.. And a front bumper cover or are they the same? I noticed one link said "bumper cover" and also I noticed if you want the 03-04 cobra bumper you need a grill delete.. Does this mean you can't have a billet grille with the termi bumper?

Re: Cobra front bumper

I purchased a 99-01 cobra front back in the day for 170 bucks.... not sure why they jacked the price up so high. I guess supply/demand~

I've been looking for a 99-01 cobra bumper for about a year now and no luck on getting one less that $500 it's a hard thing to find. You know someone would make some good money if they made a aftermarket one. I really want one for my car. I would do the 03-04 cobra bumper but I hangout with guys that have a true 03-04 cobra and they don't like it on GTs......so dumb.
