How much boost do you plan on pushing. People running serious boost usually run around an 8:1 or less ratio. The only ways to change it are new pistons and a larger combustion chamber on your heads.

You should be able to get away with a 9:1 ratio, however you will need a fully forged bottom end to handle it.

Re: compression ratio

9.0 is as low as I would go though. Anything lower than that and you will lose alot of bottom end

Re: compression ratio

boost wont modify the compression ratio. For a 99-04 GT about 450rwhp is the limit, thats about 10-11psi or there about I believe~ any more and you are just asking for issues down the road at some point.

This is true, but he stated that he is getting a forged shortblock and in another thread he also mentioned TFS heads. So between choosing heads and pistons, he has a wide open possiblity for choosing his CR
