Side scoops

My side scoops, the paint was peeling and under the paint was white so I took them off and painted them black what do you guys think?
Should I just order some new ones to match the color?

It just looked goofy with them half white and half of the car color.

Re: Side scoops

Idk man, I would either do a C stripe or get paint matched ones. I have only seen one car in my life with black side scoops that I liked and its ColeJohnson. I can't tell you why his is ok and the others arent, but thats just me. If you like them then that is what counts

Thanks for your opinion I think I'm just going to get them painted back to match the car

Re: Side scoops

Looks way better painted to match...I think the only cars that can pull off black side scoops are black cars

My side scoops came off a DSG Mach 1 but my shop sanded them down, re-primed, painted and coated, so I better not have that problem lol.

Re: Side scoops

I used the color match paint from autozone when I painted my mirrors.. took them off sanded them, primed, painted, wetsanded, then cleared them.. the color was almost dead on. I think unless its pointed out.. nobody would ever know!

Re: Side scoops

black isnt horrible, some go with carbon fiber looking ones (or wrap them in carbon fiber looking material) and they look ok, with your color though~ I would keep them color matched.

I actually liked the black side scoop look with your car. It was different and nice. Didn't stand out too much but had a little pop, ya know? I think the only reason everyone wasn't all for it was because you didn't have the grey/black theme over the entire exterior of the car like on my car.

Was it easy taking the side scoops off? How'd you do it? We painted mine on the car and it was a nightmare.

They just pop right off you have to give it a good pull it's held in my little plastic clamps it didn't look bad black but I think it looks way better matching how it is now
