nitto drag radials

Has anyone used the nt05r drag radials from nitto or know anyone who has? Are they any good?

I have tripple-nickel but I'll ask around. Read a document from recent pros once that say launch on radials should start slow for grip then punch it. Slicks vs radials. Two different setups. Slicks offer hard launch and radials spin out due to harder rubber.

They are good tires but they are only for dry traction and are not really meant for normal every driving. You do not want to get caught in the rain.

I have nitto 555r and I use them every day, rain, dry whatever...just not snow and ice...just can't go crazy in rain unless you can control it and like having that kinda fun

I used to use them on my 94 cobra and I loved them. Even drove with them in the rain. As long as its not a down pour they are okay. But after about 5K miles they can be down right scary on a wet surface. They do have channels for water dispersion, they are just not very deep. I used to get about 8-10K miles on the nitto DRs.

I just was curious if they were any good, I have Mickey thompsons on my 89 gt, I also have a set of et streets that I used a couple of times but I didn't like those for my car, I have the same 60 ft times with street tires as I do with the et streets.

I don't see why people hate Nittos. They perform better for wet performance then Mickeys and are as good or better than any other drag radial on dry track. Idk.. Maybe it's just me.

They might perform better in the rain but drag strip, ehh Hoosier or Mickys is the choice of the pros

---------- Post added at 11:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:33 PM ----------

In the brands defense tho, I can get a 2.0 60 foot time on my 235/50/18 all season Nittos on my car now and my car is by no means slow or weak off the line, but ill let you know what my MTs do this weekend
