GAS

So anyone know any other tips besides driving at a decent speed to save gas bc it seems like my GT just drinks it. Not a problem, bc I expect it with it being a v8. Gas treatment? Anything? Opinions would be greatly appreciated.

If you're getting over 17 as an average you're doing about as good as it'll get

Yeah. Me personally the 1999-2004 models sucked on gas mileage. My fathers 98 cobra does better on gas then my car.

Re: GAS

clean fuel filter, air filter, seafoam the car regularly, clean injectors, clean oil (synth may help a bit over regular~), clean MAF, plugs/wires inspected, tires aired up correctly, regular upkeep etc along with good driving habbits (lower rpm shifting, coasting in neutral when possible)

Dang! You serious.....I'm about to do a gear swap on mine. It's a daily driver but I do all in town driving. So I wonder if you get that good of mpg because you have the 08 GT. Because I have stock gears and average 16 in the city. So I'm wondering if I should go with 4.10s now.

Re: GAS

id get the tuner ASAP, from AM you get free tunes for life so you will save that much more when you add mods. with my tuner (on my street tune) i made a 250 mile trip on 3/4 of a tank and i was due for an oil change and tune up. you start saving and it adds up bro

Re: GAS

certain ECU tuners even offer an economy tune just for extra MPG. you could flash your ecu and switch between the economy tune and performance tune with the economy for your during the week driving, and performance on the weekend

If you really want some noticeable mpg gains find a gas station that sells ethanol free gasoline that will give you a good 2-3 more mpg provided you dont keep your foot on the go pedal all the time

+1 yea he's right don't go to Walmart ( aka Murphy's ) gas stations they really mix the fuel with ethanol up to 15%. It defiantly is noticeable on my Jeep Cherokee. I stick with Shell, BP, or Pilot.
